Leaving it late to get into decent shape for my wedding day, I was approached by Henry one evening in the gym as I pounded away in a race against time on the treadmill which I was surely losing. The tailor had told me I needed to lose half a stone in order for my wedding suit to fit well and I only had 5 weeks to do it in. After I had explained this predicament to Henry, we did a trial session and he assessed my fitness, weight and height. After briefly reflecting on the evidence he calmly stated “It’s doable”. And doable it was, following 15 hours of varied training training sessions, I hit my target and more. The sessions were enjoyable, demanding and rewarding and the improvements to my energy levels, health and fitness have been immeasurable. I still  train with Henry to this day and I whole heartedly recommend him to anyone who wishes to exercise effectively to get into shape and feel good about oneself.

In late 2011, having just completed my goal of running the world 5 major marathons, I decided to enter the Comrades Marathon, the world’s biggest single day ultra-marathon event in South Africa. I set about finding someone who could help me accomplish this task, and almost by accident found Henry. This was to be the moment when this pipe dream became a realistic proposition. Henry is not only a great trainer, but given the fact that he is actually crazy enough to run 100 mile races (!),  he can actually walk the walk so I had no reason to ever question his advice; of great importance to me during those dark solitary moments while rigidly following his training plan! Henry pushed me to being in the best shape of my life, our time together was enjoyable, effective and uncomplicated. As a result the race was one of the most enjoyable days of my life, finishing the 56 mile hilly course in 10hrs 22mins. It goes without saying that I would highly recommend Henry to anyone with a genuine desire to do something extraordinary, or just simply to get healthy; he won’t let you down. Thank you Henry and good luck mate.

Henry very kindly donated 6 training sessions to our school’s charity – Yorkshire Cancer Research. Having been asked to find out who this wonderful person was, I booked a “taster” session with him. After years of gym monotomy, Henry is a breath of fresh air! I didn’t want to become the next Paula Radcliffe, but with middle age approaching at a rate of knots (depends on when you think middle age is!) I wanted to lift my fitness levels from the doldrums and do something different! Henry introduced me to a variety of exercises, both indoor and out including boxing (which I love). His enthusiasm and constant positive attitude are uplifting themselves, add that to his knowledge and skills, it’s an unbeatable combination! The result, no bingo wings, generally fitter and a boxer! Despite the fact that the bright lights of London is too far away – the good work continues and I am indebted to Henry for his goodwill, good sense and good humour -also his ability to take a lot of stick from middle-aged women!! Go for it Henry!

A year ago I decided that I needed to “lose a few pounds and get fit”. A friend of mine told me that she had been seeing a personal trainer, she gave me his number and I gave him a ring.
After that I  never looked back!

Since then I have lost three and a half stone and can now exercise for an hour and not need an iron lung for a week after!

We started slowly, running for 30 seconds( which was a huge challenge!) and walking for 2 minutes until before I realised it Henry had suggested it was time to do a kilometre!  No way!  But yes way! I did it, he talked to me and encouraged me and I managed a kilometre. The sense of achievement was amazing. I was beginning to think that I quite enjoyed this ” working out lark”.

I also began to notice my clothes were getting looser, which when you are already choosing clothes from the back of the rack that was a really exciting feeling. People started noticing that I was losing weight and really toning up .. All those months in the gym sweating and having a laugh were paying off. Even my husband had noticed!!!

I was enjoying myself, feeling fitter and achieving things I never thought I could.

A year later I can run 5k ( without stopping ) all thanks to Henry. Have dropped 4 dress sizes and am now thinking, ” I might give that 10k a go.”

After 7 years of running, any distance from 10k up to and including marathons, ultras, multi-day ultras and triathlons, I took a break from exercise in 2007.
Unfortunately I didn’t stop eating like an athlete and quickly put on a couple of stone, but I didn’t worry about it, I still felt fit enough, fast forward to the end of 2011, the weight still too high and at 43, the usual worries about health and getting older kicked in. Spurred on by my wife who had already started going to Henry’s circuit training classes, I decided to go along, thinking I’d be ok, after all I still believed I was fit!
What a shock it was, but at the same time, what fun I had. The sessions were tough, but thoroughly enjoyable, and I kept going back for more! I wasn’t fit at all, but this gave me the incentive to get fit, I’ve now been going for 6 months, I’m fitter and stronger than I’ve ever been, instead of pure running fitness, I’ve got muscular strength too.
I’ve also lost 2 stone, and encouraged by Henry I’ve even gone back to running – 5km park run races, I’d never run 5km races before, but I’ve currently got a PB of 21:16, more than acceptable for a 43 year old!! I don’t think this would have been possible without the circuit training.
My wife and I love the circuit training, the camaraderie with Henry and the others who go along make it an enjoyable hour!

When I decided to undertake the challenge of running 4 marathons in 3 days in the Jordanian desert I knew I’d be for a huge challenge. A challenge I thought I’d be capable of tackling alone, I was soon however realizing my misjudgment. This is where Henry came in, I explained the challenge to him, told him how long I had to prepare and he instantly got the ball rolling (and not a second too soon). He immediately put the whole thing into perspective for me, gave me a detailed training program and plenty of advice. Once training got started, things were tough, but rightly so! The training was varied and specific to desert running. He also introduced me to plenty of great new running sites in the local area, where many of our training sessions took place. Henry was also a great fountain of knowledge, helping me from the utter basics of ‘how to run?’ (sounds simple, but it isn’t) and ‘What trainers to where?’, right up to questions like ‘What electrolyte and gel should i use after 2 hours of running?’
All in all Henry managed to keep the whole experiencing interesting and fresh, whilst still maintaining a set goal. I can safely say that without Henry I would certainly not have made it to the end of my run… but then again I might have more than 2 toenails now if I hadn’t!”

After years of being unfit and overweight, with a holiday with my friends coming up, I had to get fit and lose weight!! I joined a gym and got myself motivated to go three times a week, great! The only thing was, I was doing the same routine each time, not losing that much weight and I was starting to get bored! Along came Henry! Henry asked me if I would like some personal training sessions, my initial reaction was “oh no not a personal trainer, they bully you into working hard and shout at you if you can’t do what they want you to do”! For some crazy reason I agreed, and now, am I glad I did!! Henry is a brilliant trainer, I have learned lots of different ways to get fit, I have learned boxing which is lots of fun, I enjoy running, (that’s something I thought I would never say)! Each session is different so you don’t get bored. Training is hard but Henry will only set you achievable goals and will motivate you to reach them! Since jan 2011 I have lost over a stone and a half in weight and have toned up a lot! Training has made me so much fitter, I can run for a whole hour whereas before I could barely run for 5mins! I have also got lots more confidence as I am almost at my goal weight!
Thanks Henry!

I had always wanted to get fit and tone up and loose a few cheeky pounds in the process, however despite my good intentions and various unused gym memberships I realised I needed someone to motivate me where I had failed. Que henry!
After a few sessions I soon noticed my fitness improving and my shape changing. A few more sessions led to people around me commenting on my changing figure thus boosting my determination, that and the combined fact that henry has managed to make each session enjoyable! That in itself is something I never thought I’d say!
Henry manages to up the intensity each session according to my increased fitness and never misses a beat, miraculously I have now managed to make fitness a routine part of my lifestyle and feel so much better for doing so. Team Henry all the way!

I was 60 years old, spend a lot of my time at work sat at a desk, got in my car to drive home, was overweight, always tired and lethargic. I could not walk up two flights of steps without being out of breath and did not feel good about my general appearance.  I had Breast Cancer a couple of years ago and was using this as an excuse for my inactivity.
Then I met Henry Morris!!
When I told people I wanted to get fitter and was going to use Henry Morris as my ‘personal trainer’ you can image the reaction from my relatives and colleagues.
The first question Henry asked was what was my motivation to get fit and did I have any targets I wanted to achieve. These were some of the reasons I identified
  • Getting on the scales and finding not only was I overweight but my weight was forever creeping upwards, that really had to stop.
  • I wanted to take part in a netball match at work without being a liability
  • My son getting married in July and being able to get into that size 12 dress I had bought.
  • Not really worrying about every calorie I ate

So what happened next?
I decided to have one training session a week with Henry. I had tried the Gym on a number of occasions but found that being indoors, carrying out the same routines at each visit and using machines did not suit me at all. Henry changes the pattern of exercise at every session, it is always a surprise what we are going to do. He challenges you on the things you are reasonable at and develops the exercises you are not so good at. I have learned to box   (great if you are feeling stressed), skip, run and tone those muscles I had forgotten I had. He is a hard task master, so never think he will give you an easy time, but what a great feeling when its over feeling full of energy, ready to enjoy the rest of the day.
So what have I achieved in 5 months?
Lost 1 stone in weight and am able to maintain the weight loss, got into the size 12 dress, love every minute of the exercise, can walk up lots of steps without being out of breath, Feel good about myself and will continue to keep fit as I have lots of new found energy.
So my advice would be to try Henry as your personal trainer you will be surprised at how your health, fitness and wellbeing will improve.

Henry has helped me to build up my stamina, gain more confidence and achieve my goals of getting fitter and losing weight/inches in time for my wedding. Our personal trainer sessions three times a week have really paid off!

Henry is friendly, motivational and very easy to get on with. He quickly works out how to get the most out of each individual so that they will gain the maximum benefit from each session.

I would highly recommend training with Henry as he will make it fun as well as helping you achieve your goals.

Henry has proven invaluable for me!

Before I started my training sessions with him I was exercising at the gym but felt as though I had got to a stage where I was doing “the same old thing” and not gaining anything. Henry has helped me to get fitter, build up my stamina and tone up. He’s very good at motivating you and working out your strengths and weaknesses. He is very easy to get along with and makes exercising fun and rewarding.

All in all an excellent personal trainer who pushes you to get the results you want.

Kim Keeley

I’ve trained with Henry for 6 months and I can’t speak highly enough of him.

He provided a personalised exercise regime which was both challenging and realistic. In particular the outdoor circuit training sessions are genuinely fun, as well as being a real test for people of all levels of fitness.  It’s especially nice to exercise out in the open air, rather than being cooped up in a sweaty gym!

As a result of working with Henry I have never felt fitter, nor been more active and healthy. I now cycle, run and go to the gym. I am now also the first-choice winger for my rugby club and I’ve started wearing the suit which last fitted me when I was 17!

Thanks Henry!

Having retired from sports due to injury, I quickly became unfit and overweight. I joined a gym to rectify this but the results were not as fast as I had hoped for, partly due to my lack of experience in a gym environment and also due age.

The offer of a PT session interested me to first get an accurate measure of my real level of fitness and what I therefore needed to work on and also to develop a program that would help me meet those goals.

The varied and interesting programs developed by Henry have always made it easy to stay motivated. The sessions never get easier, you always seem to finish a session with the right level of exhaustion and aches. And Henry watches closely pushing you all the way so that you progress as fast as you can manage without risking injury.

As with all training programs you get out what you put in, but with Henrys programs and support the value of what you put in is greatly enhanced.

Thanks a lot Henry
